I’m very excited to share that my new french horn concerto ‘The Innocents’ has premiered!
Written for principal horn player Gregory Stephens, the premiere took place at the Federation Concert Hall, Hobart, on October 3rd 2025, conducted by Simon Reade with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
It was fabulous to have an audience of over 500 to hear the premieres of four new concertos as the final performance of the Australian Composers School for 24/25, showing that audience appreciation for new Australian works exists!
It’s been a fabulous two years of working with the TSO and mentors Matthew Hindson and Maria Grenfell as part of the Australian Composers School. The opportunity to compose 4 new works for orchestra over two years has been both a joy and a privilege, working with wonderful, supportive performers and the incredible team at TSO. Sharing the journey with fantastic composers Joseph Franklin, Naomi Dodd and Ben Robinson has been a lot of fun!
